Requirements to obtain an EU Blue Card

An EU Blue Card allows you to stay and work in Sweden for a limited period of time. To be granted an EU Blue Card, you must have a university degree or five years’ professional experience and your salary must be at least the equivalent of one and a half times the average gross salary in Sweden. This requirement is stated in the Aliens Act, Chapter 6 a § 1.

For 2014, the salary threshold is 45.900 SEK per month. It has been set as a result of consultations between the Swedish Migration Agency and the National Mediation Office.

The regulation was aopted on 8th September 2014.
